Delve Deep into the Pilates Method with our Anatomy of the Mat Workshop

Epiphany Pilates is thrilled to now offer Anatomy of the Mat™, a unique workshop experience for both new and seasoned Pilates instructors, aspiring Pilates instructors preparing for teacher training programs, as well as serious practitioners of the method who wish to delve deeper into the work.

Anatomy of the Mat™ is an interactive and engaging workshop that provides participants with the tools needed to both understand anatomical concepts and implement biomechanics of movement principles during one’s personal practice and while teaching clients the Pilates repertoire of exercises, on the mat and beyond.

Anatomy of the Mat™ is eligible for 18 NPCP CECs and is also a requisite of the Epiphany Pilates Teacher Training and Apprenticeship Program.

During this 3-day experience, you will learn:

  • How the body works and moves, particularly how the major bones, muscles, and joints contribute to the movements of the classical Pilates Mat exercises

  • How basic anatomy and biomechanics of movement principles explored in the Pilates Mat work can be applied to the full depth and breadth of Pilates exercises across each apparatus

  • How to identify anatomical and movement deviations that cause imbalances in the body while both practicing Pilates and going through life’s daily tasks

  • How to develop targeted modifications and anatomically-focused movement progression patterns to help clients get the most out of their individual Pilates practices

  • How to identify contraindicated exercises and safely teach clients with a multitude of medical conditions

  • How to teach with more confidence and accuracy while showing clients how Pilates exercises can help them move better and feel better in every aspect of their lives
